Fridays & Saturdays, Java Kai Kapa'a, Winter 2015
I am continuing to fulfill my dreams of being an entrepreneurial restaurateur with our latest venture, Hanai. We are, to my knowledge, going to be the first 100% locally sourced restaurant in Hawaii!
This partnership between Adam Watten and I began as he voluntarily worked an event I cold-called the hotel he worked at, we've been friends ever since.
So now we are opening Hanai (hanai (v.) – to adopt, to be close; to nourish, to sustain) as a business incubator to attract the necessary resources to open a real restaurant. The one we have both always dreamed of - a 30-50 seat venue serving hospitality, integrity, love, a sense of place & time while continuing to remain 100% local.
I appreciate all those who have aided in our research and development so far and hope to see you in for dinner any Friday or Saturday night 5-10 at Java Kai in Kapaa for the next 3 months.
